Editorial Photography

Editorial Photography is a very broad field and there are many opportunities to keep in mind when considering some options for your career. Intended for reporting, this area probably has the highest ethical standards for retouching and editing, so if you are interested in creative ways, this is perhaps not the professional company for you. Artists are probably just supposed to do it in order to produce greater clarity, and not modify their work. If you think this might be something you want to introduce, here are some types to consider:

Archive photography – cataloging, preservation and storage of long-term photographic collections
Architectural photography – images of residential or commercial structures to capture structural details
Nature photography – this could include aerial photography, landscape, wildlife, underwater, macro or floral
Scientific Photography – this could include microscopic photographs, forensic, microscopic, medical, fiber optic or telescopic astro
Military Photography – this could include satellite photography, documentaries or surveillance
Photography business – in this area, you can take structural or interior photographs, or you can take portraits of the company
Training and photography start-up – photography is live music or shows
Celebrity photography – involving work or paparazzi red carpet
Commercial – editorial photography to be considered, would be mainly a PR photograph
Fashion photography – this includes photo clues, unplanned creative photo shoots
